Business and MSME loan settlement

A downturn, a stalled payment cycle or a closed unit can leave a business loan overdue. For unsecured business and working-capital loans, a negotiated settlement can bring a clear finish line. Advocates handle the negotiation and any legal notices so you can focus on the business.

We are not a lender. We do not give loans or take over your debt. We advise and represent you.

When this may be for you

  • The business has slowed or closed and cash flow cannot support EMIs
  • A working-capital line or unsecured term loan is overdue
  • You have received a demand notice or arbitration notice
  • Personal guarantees are creating personal pressure

How we help

  1. Assess the loan, guarantees and the lender's position
  2. Reply to demand and legal notices on time
  3. Negotiate amount and instalments with the lender
  4. Document the settlement and closure properly
  5. Represent you in arbitration or tribunal proceedings where needed

Documents to keep ready

  • Loan agreement, sanction letter and guarantees
  • Account statements and notices
  • Recent financials or GST returns
  • Proof of the business downturn
  • ID, address and business registration proof
Never pay without a written settlement letter on the lender's letterhead. After the final payment, collect a No Dues Certificate and check that your credit report is updated. Settlement is at the lender's discretion and will be reported to credit bureaus.

Questions borrowers ask

Frequently asked questions

Can secured business loans be settled?

They are settled less often because the lender holds collateral. Restructuring or a negotiated sale is sometimes explored instead.

Do I need to reply to a legal notice?

Yes. Notices usually have a deadline, and ignoring them can weaken your position.

Does settlement end personal guarantee liability?

A properly drafted settlement letter should address guarantees. Always have it checked before you sign or pay.
